A2P SMS (application-to-person) is the traffic businesses send to people: one-time codes, delivery windows, appointment reminders, statements and campaigns. On PacketExchange it runs on SMS routes bought direct from the carriers who list them, at the route's own rate per segment, with each route's tier and sender support stated before you buy.
Bulk SMS needs no separate product: one request reaches one number or up to 1,000, and every message gets its own ID and status. Send from your brand as an alphanumeric sender, or from a number, and numbers on your do-not-contact list are refused before routing, so a suppressed send costs nothing.

An SMS costs the route's rate multiplied by its segments, plus a platform fee of 2% of that amount, capped at $0.001 per message.
